Meet Ferris, our class pet. He is a Hermann's Tortoise, and his full name is Ferris Tortellini. Ferris likes to eat kale, parsley, spring mix, raspberries, petunias, and tortoise pellets.
The students have lots of fun observing and interacting with Ferris… especially during our science unit on life cycles and animal habitats. They have not only learned about Ferris’s nutritional needs, habitat, and how to care for him, but they have also learned several fun tortoise facts as well.
